Our Rabbeim

Yeshivas Chosein Yehoshua's primary offering is its stellar lineup of Maggidei Shiur and Shoel Umeishivim. Accomplished talmidei chachamim and exemplars of the way of the Torah, these Rabbeim teach, guide and love our talmidim, giving them rock-solid foundations for their learning careers and the remainder of their lives. The Rosh Yeshiva's generous leadership style allows each of the Rabbeim space to use their diverse personalities to transmit to the next generation of Torah.

Rav Moshe Anshel Bienstock

In addition to giving the daily First Seder shiur, the incredibly devoted Rav Moshe Anshel Bienstock, Rosh Yeshiva, spends nearly his entire day at Yeshiva, learning and with Talmidim as well as overseeing the growth of the Makom Torah. His trademark humility and fatherly presence warm the entire yeshiva and are the cornerstone of the Yeshiva’s power to transform Talmidim. He is a talmid of Rav Elya Baruch Finkel and Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, and a talmid muvhak of Rav Elya Svei and Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky. Prior to the founding of the Yeshiva, he was a Maggid Shiur in the Mir for eight years. Natively of Philadelphia, PA, he currently resides in Har Nof.

Rav Shlomo Baruchov

Rav Shlomo Baruchov, beloved Mashgiach, is a talmid of Rav Yaakov Friedman of Yeshiva Birkas Mordechai and Rav Aharon David of the Mir Yeshiva. His caring, passionate authenticity and brilliant grasp of the nuances of human nature position him as an invaluable aid in the life of a Chosein Yehoshua bochur. Originally of Monsey, NY, he now resides in Beitar Illit.

Rav Dovid Osband

Rav Dovid Osband, First Seder Maggid Shiur, gives a crystal-clear method to the sugyos in shiur and in conversation with his Talmidim. His approach ensures each talmid grasps the issues of the Gemara, and his shiur often includes lively discussion of the sugya. He also remains in the Yeshiva for Second and Night Seder twice weekly. Originally from Elizabeth, NJ, he is a 15-year talmid of Rav Yaakov Friedman at Yeshivas Birchas Mordechai and lives in Beitar Illit.

Rav Dov Dovid Klein

Rav Dov Dovid Klein, Second Seder Shoel Umeishiv, is one of the guiding lights of the yeshiva. His thinking greatly influenced by the late Rav Moshe Shapiro, he imparts a penetrating view of Yiddishkeit and hashkafa to the Yeshiva. His understanding of the challenges of bochurhood and the beginnings of married life allows him to forge deep connections with many of the talmidim. London-born, he is especially quick to relate to our European talmidim. He is a talmid of Rav Avrohom Gurvitz and Rav Yehuda Leib Whitler of the Gateshead yeshiva as well as the Mir's Rav Asher Arieli, and lives in Kiryat Sefer.

Rav Moshe Klughaupt

Rabbi Moshe Klughaupt, First Seder Shoel Umeishiv for the Kollel, uses his great Torah knowledge and spectacular explanatory skills to gently uplift and guide Talmidim toward deeper understanding and ownership of the Sugyos. Originally from Lakewood, NJ, he is a talmid of Rav Yaakov Busel, Rav Yosef Eichenstein and Rav Berel Shachar of Edison, NJ, and Rav Tzvi Kaplan. He lives in Kiryat Sefer.

Rav Shmuel Birnbaum

Rav Shmuel Birnbaum, Rosh Kollel, Kollel Chosein Yehoshua, guides freshly minted Avreichim in the life of Kollel and assists them in deepening their Torah knowledge as they return to yeshiva in Eretz Yisroel. Additionally, he serves as Second Seder Shoel Umeishiv. Originally from Chicago, IL, his family moved to Har Nof when he was ten years old. He lives in Maalot Dafna and is a talmid of Rav Yisroel Glustein and Rav Moshe Aharon Friedman of the Mir. A musmach of Rav Yitzchok Bohm and Rav Shraga Kallis, he is the Yeshiva's resident halachic expert.

Rav Eliyahu Kirzner

Rav Eliyahu Kirzner, First Seder Shoel Umeishiv, is a talmid of the Yeshiva of Philadelphia, the Brisker Kollel and the Mir Yeshiva's Rav Baruch Ber Leibowitz. He brings with him vigorous effervescence to Yeshiva and uplifts First Seder, incising the sugya with deep analysis and getting each bochur to feel the difficulty of a kushya. Raised in Borough Park, he now lives in the Sorotzkin neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

Rav Gavriel Blackstein

Rav Gavriel Blackstein, Shoel Umeishiv, First and Night Seder. Illuminatingly honest and eminently concerned, he offers deep insights to the sugya and has a keen understanding of the process of becoming a Ben Torah. In addition to his many chavrusashafts held with talmidim, he avails himself greatly  to the bochur tasked with delivering that week’s chabura. Originally of Lakewood, NJ, and a talmid of the Yeshiva of Philadelphia and Rav Asher Arieli, he now lives in Yerushalayim’s Sorotzkin neighborhood.

Rav Yacov Moshe Nordlicht

Rav Yacov Moshe Nordlicht, Second Seder Shoel Umeishiv, is a brilliant Talmid Chacham who references the breadth of Shas to enrich the limudim with nuance and lomdus. Patient and good natured, he spends whatever time it takes until a talmid fully understands a concept. Additionally, his grasp of worldly knowledge fascinates and educates his co-conversationalist. Originally, of West Hempstead, NY, he resides in Ramat Beit Shemesh III and is a talmid of Rav Asher Arieli and Rav Refael Shmuelevitz. Prior to his joining Chosein Yehoshua, he served as a Rosh Chabura in Yeshivas Mir.

Rav Yochanan Gewirtz

Rav Yochanan Gewirtz, Second Seder Shoel Umeishiv, patiently explains and enriches the Second Seder sugyos. He is a talmid of Rav Yerachmiel Chossid and Rav Eitan Yaffen, as well as Rav Shmuel Wolman of Yeshivas Mir, under whom he currently serves as a First Seder Shoel Umeishiv. Born and bred in Flatbush, he now resides in Ramat Beit Shemesh III.

Rav Dovid Garfinkel

Rav Dovid Garfinkel, Night Seder Shoel Umeishiv, allows his humor and easygoing disposition to belie his genius and ability to deconstruct the anatomy of Gemara to afford a talmid more independence and holistic depth in learning. He is a talmid of Rav Shmuel Berenbaum and Rav Yisroel Glustein. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, he now resides in Yerushalayim’s Ramat Eshkol neighborhood.

Rav Daniel Muller

Rav Daniel Muller, musmach of Rav Shmuel Fuerst, serves as our Yeshiva Posek, and gives three weekly halacha shiurim, including a series on the melachos of Shabbos. A talmid of Rav Asher Arieli and originally from Zurich, he lives in Har Nof where he serves as Mara D'asra of Kehillas Ashkenaz.

Rav Mordechai Sternberg

Rav Mordechai Sternberg gives a weekly shiur on the alternating topics of preparation for marriage and hilchos ribbis. He also holds numerous one-on-one chavrusashafts with our bochurim. A talmid of ­Rav Yitzchok Feigelstock, he is a renowned expert in hilchos ribbis. Raised in Miami Beach, FL, he currently resides in the Romema neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

Rav Ephraim Fordsham

Rav Ephraim Fordsham gives a weekly shiur on tefillah and his wit and engaging style inspire our talmidim to a higher appreciation of davening. Born in London, he learnt under Rav Asher Arieli, is a talmid of Rav Shlomo Wolbe and maintains a close relationship with Rav Gamliel Rabinovich. He currently resides in Romema.

Rocky Hershkowitz

Rocky Hershkowitz, dedicated administrator, runs Yeshiva's daily operations smoothly and professionally, faithfully executing the Rosh Yeshiva's vision. Prior to Chosein Yehoshua's founding, he was Rav Bienstock's Shoel Umeishiv at Yeshivas Mir. Raised in Lakewood and Bayit Vegan, he is now a resident of Ramat Eshkol.
